18 year old Alex Hall was simply hanging out at the mall, Listening to 'Tunes'.
Alex was a friend of Marty Mcfly, he knew him since September 1985.

He'd been working for Doc Brown since Halloween 1986, why?
Marty lost interest in time travel.

Doc said he'd call him to tell them where- or more precisely, When,- they were going.
Instead..

"Psst, Alex!" he called in a whisper from another shopping center.
"Oh Doc!.. So what's the word, Past or Future?" he asked.
"Future, I'll show you what date when we get to the delorean." He replied looking at costumes.
"Its 2015 isn't it?" he asked knowingly.
"Yep, and actually, its not the only year we are going to." He said moving to another row.
"K, Well, I got what I need, I'll be waiting for you." he said leaving.

When doc came out, he saw that Alex had pack all the essentials in a bag.
His future clothing, money, first aid, walkie talkie, batteries, everything.

They had been transported to Sunday- November 1st, 2015, 2:55 PM.

They got out in the same exact place as last time.
"Okay, so what now?" he asked after having changed and loaded up on his essentials.
"Okay, go to the front of the court house and wait for Griff Tannen." he said putting on a brown hair wig.
"Got it."

Soon after waiting a short time in front of the courthouse, Griff finally came.

"Alright Tannen, what's going down?" he asked in a funny way.
Griff removed his helmet, he looked exactly like Biff from 1955.
"Alright, well, you and I both hate that Butthead Mcfly Jr.. Well, we both know what happened last month right? well, You and I are gonna really.." he takes out a glue gun, "STICK it to him... heh, get it?" Alex rolled his eyes.
